Staff Sgt. (retired) Kelly Fromm, a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., redecorated his 2010 Camaro Super Sport, a former show car, after being inspired by his local community honoring a fallen 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper.
Just a month after donning it's new patriotic vinyl wrap, Fromm visited the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, N.C., with his tribute car, May 27, while making his way to Washington, D.C., for Memorial Day weekend.
The tribute car, Veteran 1, draws much attention from passersby.
"It provides an emotional punch," said Fromm. "That's what I was going after."
In addition to its exterior visual appeal, Veteran 1 also has a flat screen and upgraded speaker system in the back. Opening the trunk and playing a patriotic song and video certainly adds to Veteran 1's "emotional punch."
"I want to remind people of the sacrifice of those who have served so they never forget," Fromm said.
While Fromm, a former 82nd Paratrooper, gave the car a distinctly All-American flavor, he also intended it to honor all veterans and fallen warriors.
